Selection Process Overview OICL Assistant Recruitment 2025

Tier II: Main Exam250 Marks, 120 minutes, Online Objective Test with 5 sections: English (40 Qs), Reasoning (40 Qs), Numerical Ability (40 Qs), Computer Knowledge (40 Qs), General Awareness (40 Qs). Minimum qualifying marks required.
Regional Language TestQualifying test in the regional language of the applied State/UT. Conducted before final selection. No marks awarded; must be passed to proceed.
  • Final merit list prepared based on Main Exam marks.
  • Tie-breaker: Older candidate preferred.
  • Penalty for wrong answers: 1/4th of the marks for each wrong answer deducted.
  • Separate call letters for each exam will be issued online.

Q1: What is the minimum educational qualification required for the Assistant post?
A1: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with English as a subject at 10th/12th/Graduation level.

Q2: Can I apply for vacancies in more than one State?
A2: No. Candidates must apply for vacancies in only one State/UT. Applications for multiple States/UTs will be rejected.

Q3: What is the age limit for applying?
A3: The minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years as on 31 July 2025, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.

Q4: Is there negative marking in the exam?
A4: Yes. One-fourth (0.25) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main exams.

Q5: What is the selection procedure?
A5: Selection is through a two-tier online exam (Preliminary and Main) followed by a Regional Language Test.

Q6: Will candidates be provided any pre-exam training?
A6: Online pre-exam training is available for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates who opt for it during application.
